La Orilla Restaurant

Island cooking at the edge of the sand — “la orilla” means the shore.

Evening tables on the terrace of the Grand Horizon restaurant, with lanterns and palms by the beach

La Orilla cooks the way Dominican families do at home: plantains in every form, slow pots of beans and rice, fish straight from the coast and plenty of lime, garlic and fresh herbs. Tables stand under the palms, a few steps from the water.

Breakfast

Mangú — mashed green plantain with pickled red onion — served with fried cheese, salami and eggs, the trio locals call “los tres golpes”. Alongside: papaya, pineapple and passion fruit, fresh juices and strong Dominican coffee.

Lunch and dinner

At lunch, rice with red beans, tostones and grilled fish in the shade. In the evening, fish cooked in coconut sauce, a sancocho stew on cooler nights and desserts made with island cacao. Vegetarian dishes are always on the menu, and the kitchen adjusts plates for allergies — please let us know when you book.

The terrace bar

Fresh juices, coconut water and cocktails, with live merengue and bachata at weekends. The terrace bar is for adults only.

Reserving a table

Hotel guests reserve at the front desk; visitors are welcome too — write to info@grandhorizon.rest. Alcohol is served only to adults of legal drinking age, and we ask everyone to drink responsibly.
